Project for the Children’s Day 2015
Celebrating the World Children’s Day of this year, the OBA has launched a special project for inculcating and raising the habit of reading among primary students of the college.
As the OBA has found its societal responsibility to contribute in creating and furthering a fine society, the young students have been selected to be the target group of beneficiaries for they will be the collaborative partners in creating such a society. The project has been so designed that its output will be future scientists, engineers, artists and such professionals since books can influence and kindle the imagination of young minds.
The launch took place this morning, 1st October 2015, at 8.30 a.m. at the College main hall with the graceful participation of Mr. Prasanna Senevirathne the Principal of the College, Mrs. Sandhya Renuka the Assistant Principal of the Primary Section and the Honorary Board of Officers of the OBA. In this very brief but grand function held, 500 books on various themes of interest of children were donated to the College.
In parallel to the celebration, another set of 350 books were disseminated to two other under privileged schools in the zone, namely, Hapugala Maha Vidyalaya and Dangedara Jayawardena Maha Vidyalaya.
The OBA offers its sincere thanks to all the contributors in the donation and all those who were behind this tiresome task to realize it to be a success. It is the humble pride of the OBA to see the innocent and genuine smile of the young hearts who would become ardent readers in the course of time and all who backed this objective will be fondly remembered.
